Consequences
Conscientious objectors during WWI, faced many cruel and unjust punishments, imprisonment, field punishment No1 and No2 because military officials wanted to convert their beliefs that war was wrong.
However most of these objectors remained strong to their fundamental beliefs for whatever reason and continued to resist conscription. This objection to compulsory military training did not only effect the men it also effect the wider New Zealand society for a variety of different reasons.
